In Class 3 the finishing order has been changed due to what the intentions of how a rule was written in the rulebook pertaining to a boat taking the start for both races. The intention of the rule was that boats went out on day 2 of racing even if their class boat count fell off due to breakage or not being able to podium due to points received from Day 1.
OPA followed the interpretation of the rule in which it states the below.
Points for V1 Wazzup will be removed from the Day 1 totals. All boats that could not start due to mechanical issues will keep their points. 623 Boom Shaka Laka will keep their placement points for the DNS on Saturday.
This rule will be cleaned up over the winter with the specifics and exceptions for Boat taking or not taking the start at the World Championships.
Upon reviewing the rules and their penalties, the standings for Class 5 on day 2 was changed. There was NO penalty assessed to 509 Shoreline Plumbing.
